Introduction to Japanese Scripts“Nihongo” (Japanese) in Japanese script is an East Asian language and spoken by more than 128 million people in and around the world, its language family is Japonic. It is official language of Japan, Palau and Angaur. This language has influence of Korean and Chinese language . It is a very old language and since Heian period (794-1185) to 19th century it has been influenced due to trade and commerce with neighbor countries like Korea and China. So Japanese language has three scripts and it is a combination of phonetics, pictorials and ideograms. These 3 scripts of Japanese language are known as:-
1. Hiragana ( Japanese words)
2. Katakana ( Japanese and foreign word)
3. Kanji (Foreign pictorials and ideograms)

Introduction to Japanese Scripts
Hiragana Chart
Hiragana Script- is known for words of Japanese origin and called Kana script. For words of Japanese origin.
Katakana Chart
Katakana Script- is known for words of foreign origin and called Kana script. It was developed for words of foreign language due to trade with countries like Korea and China.
Kana Scripts I,e Hiragana and Katakana are the phonetic symbols, each set has 46 symbols each. Second set of Kana symbols has 25 syllables each. Interesting part is that the 2nd set is made from the 1st set by using just two symbols.
Kanji Set
Kanji Script– is famous for Chinese pictograms and ideograms because it entered in Japan due to trade from with China and Korea, moreover at that time in Japan ladies were not allowed to write so they used pictorial and ideograms.
In Kanji, Stroke order is very much important to write Kanji Characters. Stroke order is fixed and can’t be changed. In Kanji for Reading and writing script is very important .
Interesting things about Japanese language
- Japanese is written both vertically and horizontally.
- If writing vertically it is written right to left but horizontally it is written left to write.
- Major Interesting part is that there are no spaces in the language. Japanese have no problem in reading without spacing.

Japanese Batches and timings
Early Morning and late evening batches are available for working professionals as well as students and weekend batches are also available. Class duration is 2 hours on alternate day basis. New batch starts every week.
Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)
JLPT is a very famour international language test which is organized by the government of Japan, twice in a year. Plenty of jobs are available and provided by Japanese Government on the basis of JLPT level. One can become eligible for various jobs in Japanese companies after clearing the JLPT exam, in Japan as well as in India according to your skill set.
About JLPT Exam
To assess , evaluate and certify the proficiency level of Japanese language for Non - Native speakers, JLPT can be attempted by any non native of Japan without any age bar and even physically disabled people can appear for this exam. It is administered twice in a year in most of the countries like in India first it is organized in the month of July 1st week and second is fixed for 1st week of December. Generally it happens on 1st Sunday of above months. Test date for December 2020 in India is 6th December. Unlike French or German , Japanese language has only five levels of study from N5 level to N1 level. N5 is considered as the easiest level and N1 is known as the toughest level. Fee of exam is approximately Rs. 1800 only which is very reasonable in comparison to other language tests like French and German.
